Project Overview
Comet, built by Perplexity, launched as an AI-native browser challenging Chrome's dominance in 2025. The core challenge: cut through browser fatigue by emphasizing privacy, built-in AI assistance, tab management, and a cleaner experience without the clutter, tracking, and bloat that Chrome accumulated over 16+ years. I contributed to the launch campaign by designing a series of mobile-optimized ads (primarily for social/Instagram-style formats) that contrasted the two "realities" and positioned Comet as the intentional, future-proof choice.
Solution
Delivered a cohesive set of 30+ ad creatives featuring bold typography, gradient backgrounds, illustrative elements (e.g., orbiting Chrome, watching eyes for tracking, clean Comet UI mocks), comparison charts, and punchy copy like "The internet moved on. Chrome didn't." and "Time to change your orbit." Emphasized themes of privacy control, focus over distraction, and AI that actually helps (summarizing, organizing, drafting) vs. passive browsing. The result: a campaign that felt premium yet approachable, built instant credibility in a skeptical space, and sparked conversations around modern browsing—aligning perfectly with Comet's mission to rethink the browser from the ground up.
